I just HAD to write the summary. This show is bananas.
Xanadu follows the journey of Greek goddess, Kira, as she descends from Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California, in 1980. She’s on a quest to help the struggling artist, Sonny, succeed in the creation of the “greatest piece of artistry of all time”- the first ROLLER DISCO!
Costume
1- Cinderella
Designers will continue pulling and prepping for the needs of the show. Designers need to start setting up fittings for their actors. Fittings can be during 6 period, before or after school or during any period of the day that is convenient. It is the responsibility of the Designers to give me AT LEAST a day’s notice to get attendance figured out. Any requests for the same day will not be honored.
2- Alterations
Designers will learn how to fit costumes for alterations.
3- Machine sewing- Block day
Designers will learn how to use the sewing machines in room 310. We will use the machines for alterations.
FUSD Theatre Festival
RTC is hosting the FUSD Theatre Festival again this year. We are scheduled for a full day: 9 AM- 4 PM. All students enrolled in a Theatre class is expected to attend. You will be missing classes all day, ensure you keep up with the work for the day.
According to the syllabus your attendance was agreed upon at the beginning of the year:
FUSD Theatre Festival Requirement
All RSA Theatre students are expected to participate in the FUSD Theatre Festival. This is the only required in class event.
Date: February 15
Time: 9-4:15
All actors must have a scene or monologue prepared for competition.
Costume Designers will enter their designs for adjudication. You can enter your Final Rose designs, Cinderella or any other designs you have done.
Students have 2 options for the day: work crew with me or attend the festival and compete their monologue
