Read Tony Tuesday assignment, you can choose to complete it on this week’s choice. Or you can wait for another week. You may turn in the assignment any time during Semester 1. Only one response is required even if you are in two Theatre classes. DUE Wednesday, June 1. NO EXCEPTIONS
Students will read and respond to 2 articles. Responses are due at the end of the Humorous Play unit. Writing standards apply.
Article 1: “Comedy, it’s Good for you” by Nan Christensen
Response question: Citing the article as evidence, discuss the challenges of comedy on stage.
Article 2: “Rehearsal Habits that will put you on a Director’s Will Cast Again List” by Michelle Jace
Response question: Citing the article as evidence, discuss which TWO rehearsal habits you believe are the most important for an actor to do during rehearsal.
Students will be put into casts and assigned a Director. Students must write a humorous play including every cast member in a role. Casts will be given 2 words that must appear somehow in their play. This week casts will write their script. Casts can choose to use Screenplay style or Script style.
