Directing Students will read 3 articles and write a response to 2 of their choice. Assignment is due at the end of the Pantomime unit. Writing standards required. Check your syllabus packet for writing expectations
Article 1: “Less is More” by Laura Wayth
Response question: Citing the article as evidence, discuss which part of directing is the most important for a successful show.
Article 2: “Learning the Directing Ropes” by Joe Deer
Response question: The article identifies 5 phases of producing shows, choose which one phase you believe is the most important for a director to be involved.
Article 3: “Directing a Diva” by Kellie Gormly
Response question: Citing the article as evidence, discuss the best way to keep egos in a cast down and encourage a sense of ensemble.
