1- Original Monologue Final draft

2- Beats and Chunks

Students will break their monologue into at least 3 chunks, each chunk will be given an emotion or action telling the actor how they want to play that chunk.

Students will add beats into their monologue. Beats are shown with a slash (/). Beats are breaks in the moment or pauses in speech. Always read your monologue aloud with the beats to see if they read correctly.

3- Deconstruct a monologue

Students will read a monologue together in class and deconstruct all script requirements of the character. Students must write notes on the monologue script

4- Character analysis

Students will learn how to complete a character analysis worksheet on their characters.
